Head Pastor

Pastor Benjamin Morris is the lead pastor at Cape Island Baptist Church. He has served as a youth pastor for Hope Christian Church in North Bend, Oregon. Before answering the call to pastoral ministry, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 22 years as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He has been happily married to his wife, Jennifer, since 2016. Jennifer is a graduate from Georgia Tech and she is the founder and owner of Four Points Financial Group. They are both from Duluth, Georgia and have four children: Landis, Jude, Thea, and Ollie.

Pastor Ben graduated from Liberty University with a BS in Religion and a graduate from Liberty Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies.

Pastor Christopher Hutton is an associate pastor at Cape Island Baptist Church. He was licensed by the congregation and by Pastor Mike Goldade in October 2021. He has been a licensed optician for over 32 years, currently working at Pearle Vision as the licensed manager for over 25 years.

Pastor Chris has been married to his wife Cindy, and they have four wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren. Cindy is a retired Cosmetologist, and a lifelong resident of Cape May, while Pastor Chris was originally from Delaware County Pa. They met in 1989 and were married in 1992 and have lived in North Cape May since.

Pastor Chris attended Millersville University and is a graduate of Camden County college with a degree in ophthalmic science. He has done two missionary tours to the Czech Republic. He is currently the treasurer at Cape Island baptist Church, as well as a trustee. He has previously held the position of Deacon chair for three years.

 

Outside of ministry and family life, Pastor Ben enjoys staying active. He loves snowboarding, playing various sports, and swimming. Above all, he values time spent with his family, whether on adventures or simply enjoying the quiet moments together.

Licensed Pastor

For enjoyment, Pastor Chris loves to spend time with his wife and their four dogs. He loves all sports, particularly hockey, football and baseball. He particularly enjoys classic movies and classic music, playing his guitar and singing.
